Santa Cruz Shakespeare (SCS)

For the eighth year, Club members operated the rental booth during the 50-show 2023 season of the Santa Cruz Shakespeare Festival at the outdoor Audrey Stanley Grove Theater in DeLaveaga Park. The season began July 8 and ended August 27.

At all 50 shows, our club members rented cushions, beach chairs and blankets for those cold nights in The Grove. We welcomed volunteers to help us with this major fund-raiser. In addition to helping us raise funds for Santa Cruz County women and girls, volunteers had the added benefit of being able to see the shows for free.

And the winners of the “Dinner for 6 Plus” are…

Our “Dinner for 6 PLUS” raffle drawing featured the daughters of our members Rose Odland and Allison McClure—Uma and Mila Odland and Phoebe McClure—who pulled the winning tickets for us! Here are the happy results:

  • 3rd prize—Dinner for 2 at Trestles Restaurant = Richard and Judy Houck of Davis
  • 2nd prize—A sailing cruise on Monterey bay for 4 = Margo and Norm Wobschall of Fair Oaks
  • 1st prize—Dinner for 6 at a private Santa Cruz residence = Richard Ramsay of San Mateo

General Fund Support
We pay club dues, create raffles and host game nights or other fun activities as the need arises to cover our administrative expenses. You can help us by supporting our non-profit organization with your tax-deductible contribution.
